Biological father loses Sask. custody case

Biological father loses Sask. custody case

The biological father of a baby boy whose mother gave him to another couple will not get custody of the child, a Saskatchewan judge has decided.

Instead, in a case that made headlines across the country last year and attracted the interest of fathers’-rights advocates, the boy will stay with the couple with whom he has been living since he was born, Queen’s Bench Justice Shawn Smith ruled Monday.

This part was interesting:

The boy’s grandmother offered a third option to the courts. She said she should have custody to ensure that the boy is raised in a way that respects his First Nations heritage. She didn’t want the child raised by a non-biological family.

Tracking The Obama Manipulation

January 19th, 2007 by Terry

IMO, it looks like the forces are gearing up to manipulate public opinion regarding U.S. Senator Barack Obama. He must be quite the threat ;) .

The unspoken message I’m seeing this month from the american media (including pictures!): He’s a black muslim terrorist with a dangerous, hidden purpose.

Obama Smeared As Former ‘Madrassa’ Student, Possible Covert Muslim Extremist

This morning, Fox News featured a segment highlighting a right-wing report that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) attended an Islamic “madrassa” school as a 6-year-old child.

Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy pointed out that madrassas are “financed by Saudis” and “teach this Wahhabism which pretty much hates us,” then declared, “The big question is: was that on the curriculum back then?” Later, a caller to the show questioned whether Obama’s schooling means that “maybe he doesn’t consider terrorists the enemy.” Fox anchor Brian Kilmeade responded, “Well, we’ll see about that.”

U.S. mass media ‘oopsies’ earlier this month:

Yahoo News Captions Obama Photo With Name “Osama” as well as CNN apology over Obama name slip

Wonder what’s coming out next month? ;) .

Oprah opens South African school for disadvantaged girls

Oprah opens South African school for disadvantaged girls

The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Henley-on-Klip, South Africa, was built with a $40-million US donation by Winfrey.

Winfrey said she was grateful that she had an opportunity for a good education and welcomed the chance to see bright young women develop into leadership roles in South Africa.

She hailed the attitudes of many of the 11- and 12-year-old girls she interviewed personally before accepting them to the school, saying they seem to value education in a way that North American children no longer do.

Winfrey, who devoted five years to creating the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls outside Johannesburg, also said of the assistance she has given at home, “I became so frustrated with visiting inner-city schools that I just stopped going. The sense that you need to learn just isn’t there.”

In America, she says, “If you ask the kids what they want or need, they will say an iPod or some sneakers. In South Africa, they don’t ask for money or toys. They ask for uniforms so they can go to school.”

Winfrey has called the Leadership Academy “the fulfillment of my work on earth.”

Pat Robertson Prediction

January 3rd, 2007 by Terry

Pat Robertson: God told me of ‘mass killing’ in 2007

Evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday that God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would cause a “mass killing” late in 2007.

“I’m not necessarily saying it’s going to be nuclear,” he said during his news-and-talk television show “The 700 Club” on the Christian Broadcasting Network.

“The Lord didn’t say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that.”

Robertson said God told him about the impending tragedy during a recent prayer retreat.

God also said, he claims, that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.
